About Me
Hi! My name is Shayla.
I am an art director and graphic designer based in Victoria, Canada, and the grateful owner of Cetadora Graphic Design Studio.
When I’m not designing, you can find me meditating, journalling, being by the ocean, gym-ing, adventuring with friends, or reading one of the many books I have on the go.
Over the past 5 years, the majority of my work can be found in various social media campaigns, art zines, educational films, event resources, government presentations, merchandise, publications, websites, and corporate branding materials.
I aspire to continue uplifting the work of change-makers in the environmental, industry, civil rights, spirituality, and wellness fields through effective design.

What is Cetadora?
Pronounciation: seta-dohr-ah
Cetadora is a multi-disciplinary design studio for change-makers and solutionaries.
My services include brand design, web development, social media marketing, merch design, data visualization, graphics, and more.
Cetadora offers solutions to communicate your goals and objectives through memorable and head-turning creations. Through my art, I hope to inspire a divine sense of community, understanding, empowerment, and belonging.
My work can be recognized through earth-based imagery, mystic illustrations, rich colour schemes, and contemporary font styles which are all authentic to my being and what I love.
What does the name Cetadora mean? How did it come about?
I created the name after brain-storming a word that could embody both my feminine-spiritual nature and passion for environmental management. I began thinking about Latin (the language used for naming all plants and animals), and some of its root words- and began thinking on what I could make from that.
“Ceta-”, or Cetacean, is the Latin order of aquatic mammals (such as whales, dolphins, or porpoises— orcas being my favourite species). I later found the root word ”-dora” meant “gift”, and I’ve always seen my art and passion for making a difference in the world as a gift.
Combined, it made Cetadora, a beautifully unique and intentional name that translates to the gift of the whales.
Ceta (चेत) in Sanskrit also means “consciousness, intellect, and senses.” 🤍
